Dr. Winston Wong

Dr. Wong received his Bachelor of Science and Master degrees in Electrical Engineering from Rice University, Houston, Texas. He received his M.D. degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Wong graduated at the top of his medical school class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Society. After his internship at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Medical Center in Houston, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center.

In 1991, Dr. Wong founded Joshua Medical Group as a medical ministry with desires to serve Christ through his profession. Out of necessity to know more about his management responsibilities, Dr. Wong joined the American College of Physician Executives. He attended continuing education seminars, culminating with a Master of Medical Management degree in 2001 from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Wong is married with one daughter. Outside of patient care and family activities, Dr. Wong travels internationally to lecture on applications of information technologies and medical management. Throughout his career, Dr. Wong has received much academic recognition, but the one that he looks forward to the most will be, “well done, thou good and faithful servant!”

 

 

 

Dr. Kwan Tan

Dr. Tan received his Bachelor and Master Degrees in Chemical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley and U.C. Davis respectively. He graduated from Oral Roberts University School of Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Dr. Tan joined Joshua Medical Group in 1994 upon finishing his training from Loma Linda. He is board certified in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Tan was born in Malaysia and grew up in San Francisco. He served in short term medical missions to Nigeria, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Mexico and China. He found these

experiences to be life changing and faith stretching. It gave him a greater appreciation for the gift of medicine. At Joshua, he finds freedom to care for his patient as a whole person; physical, emotional and spiritual. Dr. Tan is married with one daughter. He enjoys music and practicing with his guitar and harmonica.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Julie Cheng

Julie Cheng graduated from the School of Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2000. She then moved to Loma Linda, California and completed her pediatrics residency at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. Dr. Cheng joined Joshua Medical Group in November 2003, and she really enjoys working with the staff and patients. Dr. Cheng shares, “I am a Christian who uses medicine to minister to the community here in northern Orange County. I have a heart for missions and I am happy to be working with doctors who share Joshua’s vision for international medical missions.”

Dr. Cheng is a pediatrician because she loves children and wants to take care of their medical needs. Dr. Cheng

states, “I believe in a healthy lifestyle. It is important to teach children healthy habits which will benefit them now and in the future.”

When Dr. Cheng is not working as a doctor, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, watch movies, go to Disneyland, run or work out at the gym, and go hiking. She also enjoys tennis, swimming, boogie boarding and just learned to surf on a long board in Hawaii!
